“It is significant that NHLRA and GSC are providing this opportunity for emerging leaders in the hospitality industry in New Hampshire. The class facilitates important reflection on one’s own leadership and establishes a framework for further development of managerial skills,” Whitney Brown, huts field supervisor, Appalachian Mountain Club.

We currently offer the following series through Granite State College throughout the year- Fundamentals of Hospitality Management, Managing Human Resources in Hospitality, or Managing Operations in Hospitality. For more information on these classes or other needs in the areas of education and workforce development, please contact: Amie Pariseau, education and workforce development director, apariseau@nhlra.com, 603-228-9585.

Fundamentals of Hospitality Management

At the completion of the series, Natalie Milligan, assistant manager, Cardigan Lodge (one of the many facilities for the Appalachian Mountain Club) stated, “I was very lucky to be able to attend the Fundamentals of Hospitality Management series hosted by Granite State College. It was much more than I expected. I found it to be very well done and the program provided such useful information which was delivered in an excellent manner. I would highly recommend this program to anyone that is interested in improving their leadership and communication skills. The series has given me tools to better myself as a leader and manager!”

Managing Human Resources for Hospitality

After completing the two part series, class attendees walked away with new skills to apply in the workplace. Katie Quimby, general manager, Buckley’s Bakery & Café said, “I never knew how to interview until I came to this class. This has been great. I’ve started stapling my interview notes to the applications.”
