Mentorship

Empowering the Next Generation of Restaurant Leaders
ProStart is a nationwide program for high school students that focuses on developing the next generation of restaurant and foodservice leaders. The program is industry-driven, combining culinary arts and restaurant management training to build practical skills. ProStart provides students a platform to discover new interests while highlighting successful career opportunities across the industry.

Feeding Dreams. Building Futures. Be a ProStart Mentor.

Mentor Role:
Mentors can connect to their community and build their networks by getting to know their students’ educators and joining local advisory boards. As a mentor, you can provide students with a wide range of work experience, feedback on technique, offer guidance on educational and career pathways, provide tours and extended learning opportunities, and write letters of recommendation.

Mentor Benefits:
Being a mentor can be easy and flexible based on your schedule and level of commitment. By working with future industry leaders, mentors are helping to develop high-quality employees for the future of their own businesses and New Hampshire’s hospitality industry.

Mentor Commitment:
• Provide and coordinate industry-related speakers and present classroom demonstrations
• Visit your ProStart school on a regular basis to support teachers and build relationships with the students
• Support ProStart teams in preparation for state and national competition in both culinary arts and restaurant management
• Become a member of the school advisory board
